Testimonials

“We were married in 1949 but have been friends since we were teenagers.  I fell in love with his black Pontiac at first, we called it “Black Beauty”.  We went down to Florida to get married a couple of weeks before Charlie had to leave for the airforce.  We have been through a lot together and would never be able to imagine being apart from one another.  Oceanside became our home when it was too hard to maintain a house on our own.  Charlie and I share a room with pictures of all our grandchildren up on the walls.  The staff’s warm compassion truly respects our needs.

Resident

My mom taught me how to crochet over 70 years ago.  The Therapeutic Recreation Staff provides me with supplies so I can crochet blankets for newborns and single mothers.  I enjoy crocheting.

“My mother is currently residing at the Oceanside Care Center. Since the day she first arrived, a staff of kind and compassionate individuals has attended to all her needs. The atmosphere at the Center is very family oriented. The staff knows every resident by their first name. When I come to visit, they tell me exactly where my Mom is and if there are any problems or questions they need answered.

The nursing staff is on top of all her medications and knows current status of any physical problems she may be experiencing.

Susan and her staff in the physical therapy section have done a tremendous job in improving her walking and ability to perform daily tasks. There are many activities at the Center, and although Mom does not participate too often, the staff remembered that she was a secretary for most of her life, so they asked her to help with one of the Center's recent mailing lists. I can't tell you how good that has made Mom feel. She was needed again.

Nicole, the Center's Social Worker is always available to answer any questions that may rise.

Mom says she feels safe and protected and I feel a sense of peace because I know she has many "angels" watching over her.

My aunt is 96 and has been thriving since she came to Oceanside.  She is able to walk now and is doing so well since she arrived.  My mom had her own apartment and couldn’t care for herself.  Even 24 hour a day home care wasn’t the right choice for her and she was in and out of the hospital almost weekly.  She came to Oceanside only for sub acute care and was going to return home.  I visit almost every day and knows she gets great attention here -- she gets everything she needs.  The staff provide good care, and the facility is very clean.  Mom decided this was the best place for her and is now here for long-term care.

“My father has been in Oceanside Care Center for four and a half years due to a massive double stroke.  He has come back from knocking on death’s door to a ray of sunshine. The first couple of months he had no intention of doing anything. Thanks to the Recreation Director my father has been getting involved and socializing everyday day. The nursing staff and the rehab staff have truly been dedicated to my father’s quality of life since his stroke. I cannot thank them enough for everything they have done.”
