Oceanside Care Center offers physical, occupational, speech therapy and audiology services. Our Rehab Department is dynamic., and our staff is lively, motivating, energetic and strives to meet each resident‘s physical, emotional and social needs. During time in the Therapy Center, residents get involved and interact socially. They encourage each other and celebrate each other’s accomplishments.
Because Oceanside Care Center is a small facility, therapy is not provided as a production line but tailored for the individual with 1:1 attention. Unlike other facilities, we don’t use transporters. Rehab and retraining begins when our therapists pick the resident up from their room to bring them to the rehab gym.
Our Rehab team concentrates on functional activities and building strength, mobility and coordination in our residents. We encourage each resident to do as much as they can by themselves. Our therapy staff operates a flexible rehab schedule to accommodate nursing care, family visits, beauty parlor services and entertainment that enhance our residents’ quality of life.
For our short-term residents we focus on community reentry training. Our therapy staff simulates activities our residents will need so they can be as independent as possible when they return home, for example, crossing the street, navigating lights and sidewalks, performing activities of daily living, dressing, bathing, toileting, and making a sandwich. We encourage communication with our families to get feedback on functions that need to be worked on.
Enabling our families to spend quality time with their loved ones is of utmost importance to our team. We help families learn proper techniques so they can walk with their loved one or take them out of the facility for an outing or visit.

I lived alone. One day I lost my balance, fell and injured my leg. I couldn’t walk when I arrived at Oceanside. All of the staff at this facility is wonderful. Therapy has made me stronger.
